Bolærne
"A coastal gem in the Færder National Park"
Bolærne is a small archipelago, but it’s big on things to do and see! For example, sunbathing, swimming, fishing, going for lovely walks in the forest and along the coast, visiting impressive military installations and the restored hunting lodge of the Count of Wedel-Jarlsberg, exploring old burial grounds and visiting the ruins of the death camp for Russian POWs on Mellom Bolæren. And of course there’s good food and drink, and a host of other activities. All in all, the perfect destination for a family outing. As well as an adventure camp, there are good accommodation options on both Østre and Vestre Bolæren, as well as the coastal cabin on Mellom Bolæren. In summer a ferry runs from Fiskebrygga, the old fish quay in Tønsberg, while both Østre Bolæren and Jensesund have visitor berths available.
